Terms & Conditions

To ensure the highest level of service and care for all clients, The Dog Shop kindly asks that all customers read and agree to the following Terms & Conditions before booking an appointment.

Appointments & Cancellations

  • We operate on a strict 48-hour cancellation/reschedule policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice.
  • Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours of the appointment will incur a fee of 50% of the groom price per dog.
  • No-shows (failure to attend without notice) will incur a full appointment charge and must be paid before any future bookings can be made.
  • Repeat no-shows may result in refusal of future appointments.

Payments

  • Payment is due on the day of your appointment.
  • We accept cash or a secure payment link sent directly to your phone or email.
  • No payment, no re-booking — payment must be received in full on the same day as your appointment to secure any future bookings.

Flea & Tick Policy

  • If your dog is found to have fleas or ticks during the grooming session, an additional charge of £10–£15 will be added to cover deep cleaning and salon disinfection.
  • If an active infestation is discovered, the groom may need to be stopped for the welfare of your dog and hygiene of the salon.
  • Please ensure your dog is regularly treated for fleas and ticks before their appointment.

Health & Behaviour

  • Please inform us of any health conditions, skin sensitivities, or behavioural issues before your appointment so we can tailor the groom to your dog's needs safely and comfortably.
  • For safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse or stop a groom if a dog becomes severely stressed or aggressive.

Late Arrivals

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may need to be rescheduled, and a late fee may apply.

Photography & Promotional Use

  • We occasionally take before and after photos of dogs for social media, marketing, and promotional purposes.
  • By booking with The Dog Shop, you give permission for your dog's image to be used online or in promotional materials.
  • If you prefer your dog not to be photographed, please let us know at drop-off, and we'll ensure no images are taken or shared.

Cancellation & Payment Policy

At The Dog Shop, I aim to provide a reliable, high-quality service for all clients while keeping grooming prices fair and manageable.

Payment Terms

  • Payment is required on the day of your dog's groom. This can be made by cash or via a secure payment link.
  • Pre-payments are also available prior to your appointment. A payment link will be sent if you prefer to pay in advance.
  • All electronic payments are taken via Monzo Business payment links, going directly into the business account.
  • A receipt can be provided upon request.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

I understand that plans can change; however, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • Cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a fee of 50% of the groom price per dog.
  • Missed appointments (no-shows) may be charged the full cost of the groom.
  • Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may require pre-payment at the time of booking for future appointments.

This policy helps ensure appointment availability for all clients and allows me to continue offering competitive pricing.
